The brief. As the energy landscape shifts toward new ways of generating, distributing and storing power, an operator needed control and monitoring that could keep pace. Plant data was scattered across devices that didn't talk to each other, faults were spotted late, and there was no single, trustworthy view of how the system was performing. They needed the assets tied together, made visible, and made supportable — without ripping out what already worked.

What we did. Automation Republic delivered a control-and-monitoring integration that brought the plant under one roof. We engineered and built the control interface in our in-house panel shop, connected generation, distribution and storage assets over industrial Ethernet, and stood up a SCADA/monitoring layer that presents live status, energy flows, alarms and performance trends on one screen. Data is logged for analysis, alarms are routed the moment a fault appears, and the whole system was documented with as-built drawings and code at handover. Secure VPN remote access lets our engineers — and the operator — see the plant and respond without travelling to site.

The platform. We built on a modern, well-supported automation and SCADA stack, using B&R control with OPC UA to move data cleanly between devices and the monitoring layer, and VEICHI or Siemens drives where power conversion and motion are involved. Open protocols mean the platform integrates with existing inverters, meters and switchgear rather than replacing them — and we stay vendor-independent, so the solution fits the installed base instead of forcing a single brand.

The result. The operator gained a single, live, documented view of the whole system — faster fault response, better-informed decisions, and confidence that spares and support are current-generation. Performance is now measurable and trended rather than guessed at, and remote diagnostics keep the plant running with minimal site visits. It's a foundation that scales as the energy mix and the site grow.
